Many of our patients who request fat grafting have experienced complications from other procedures. In some cases they have had multiple complications.
For breast reconstruction the complications include failure of tissue flaps, infected implants and radiation complications such as severe capsular contracture of their implants placed for reconstruction or previous augmentation. Breast augmentation failures have often had multiple augmentation procedures with repeated infections, capsular contracture and exposure of implants.
Fat grafting is able to salvage these failed attempts in most cases, often converting a crippled, distorted breast to a breast that looks and feels normal.
