We have once again been invited to present our experience with fat grafting for breast reconstruction at the 2nd annual meeting of the International Society of Plastic Regenerative Surgery, in Berlin in June. It is a great honor to be allowed to present our favorable experience using banked fat (cryopreserved fat) as part of the breast reconstruction process. We have found that this fat appears to be incorporated during the grafting process without any noted complications. The title of the presentation is 'The use of cryopreserved fat in staged reconstruction procedures of the breast'. The benefit of using banked fat is that it simplifies the fat grafting process when multiple staged procedures are required, by minimizing the need for repeated liposuction every time a grafting procedure is performed. The banked fat is simply retrieved as needed thus making the procedure much simpler for the patient.
